As the crisis in Bangladesh continues to develop, attention is focused on Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and founder of Grameen Bank, who has been appointed to lead the nation’s reconstruction efforts.
In a column featured in Print, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy commended Yunus as a pivotal influence in the realm of social entrepreneurship.
Narayana Murthy Said,
“In today’s troubled world, we need Yunus and his ideas more than ever,”
In praising Yunus for his revolutionary concept of ‘microfinance’, Murthy pointed out that many entrepreneurs successfully developed profitable ventures at the forefront of technology, leading to substantial wealth. Conversely, some chose to apply their expertise to social entrepreneurship and innovation, founding exceptional institutions that tackled social and environmental issues in inventive ways, capable of making a positive difference for millions.
